April 2017 Monthly traffic update

15% Auckland Airport''s total international passenger numbers (excluding
transits) increased by 15% to 861,292 in April 2017, compared with April
2016. Strong passenger growth was achieved across all regions, with
trans-Tasman, our biggest market, up 7.9% driven by the later timing of
Easter, the school holidays and arrivals for the World Masters Games. The
Americas (up 29.5%) and Asia/Middle East routes, (up 24%) as well as domestic
traffic (up 4%) also performed well in April 2017.

17.7% New Zealand resident departures were up 17.7% in April 2017 compared
with April 2016, driven by popular school holiday destinations: Australia (up
6%), Thailand (up 58.8%), the United States and the Pacific Islands (both up
17.7%). New Zealanders have taken 2.7 million overseas trips in the past 12
months, stimulated by growth in both capacity and competition, which have
resulted in more affordable travel. 79% of Kiwis leaving the country in April
2017 did so through Auckland Airport.

21.3% Auckland Airport''s international visitor arrivals (excluding Kiwis)
were up 21.3% for the month of April 2017, compared with April 2016.
Together, the Easter holidays and the 10-day World Masters Games led to some
impressive increases from some of our largest visitor markets in April 2017,
including Australia (up 26.1%), the United States (up 42.8%), the United
Kingdom (up 49.2%), Germany (up 58.8%) and Canada (up 70.8%).

-10.1% Auckland Airport''s Chinese visitor arrivals were down 10.1% in April
2017, compared with April 2016, and are down 0.4% in the financial year to
date. While the number of Chinese arrivals in April 2017 is still 50% higher
than two years ago, April 2017 saw the number of Chinese arrivals impacted by
the seasonal capacity reduction on China Southern''s Guangzhou-Auckland
service. Chinese arrivals also continue to be influenced by the reduction in
group travel in favour of high-value free independent travellers.
