Chico’s opens first pop-up store

Golf fans will be able to shop Chico’s Zenergy Golf Collection and activewear at the Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial tournament at Cypress Lake Country Club at the Fort Myers-based clothing boutique’s first pop-up shop.

The 1,287-square-foot shop will be constructed by Omni Source Events Inc. and will feature two fitting rooms, track lighting, and two flatscreen TV’s showcasing Chico’s Zenergy Golf Collection commercial with Symetra Tour player, Stefanie Kenoyer. The pop-up shop will also consist of two point of sale register systems, four iPads and will accept credit card or gift card only.

Chico’s Zenergy Golf Collection clothing offers wicking and UV protection, plus tee holders and deep pockets for golf balls and score cards.

The pop-up shop will be open to the public and those who attend the Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial from Friday, May 2 through Sunday, May 4. Boutique hours will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Bonita chamber to host trade show

The Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce will host its Business Before Business Mini Trade Show on Thursday from 8 to 9:15 a.m. at the Bonita Springs YMCA, 27200 Kent Road, in Bonita Springs. The Mini Trade shows are held every other month and allow for up to 30 Chamber members to showcase their products and services as an exhibitor.

Table exhibitor space is $50 and includes a six foot table and two chairs. Electricity is limited and a table with electrical access is $75. Advance attendee registration is $5 per member, $10 at the door, and $30 for future members.

Image Awards reception Tuesday

The Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association will recognize the best public relations, communications and marketing efforts in Southwest Florida at its 2014 Local Image Awards reception on Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Alliance for the Arts, 10091 McGregor Blvd., in Fort Myers.

The Local Image Awards competition is conducted annually to recognize outstanding public relations programs in Southwest Florida and to encourage and promote the development of public relations professionalism in our area. Entrants must demonstrate innovation, planning, design and execution within budget.

Red Sox store closes Friday

The Boston Red Sox Spring Training Team Store will be officially closing for the season on Friday and is not scheduled to reopen until January 2015.

All items including authentic merchandise, novelties, youth apparel, men’s and women’s apparel, hats and St. Patrick’s Day apparel are discounted 50 percent off regular retail prices.

The store is located at JetBlue Park at Fenway South, 11500 Fenway S. Drive, in Fort Myers, and will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lockup Self Storage opens in Bonita

The Lockup Self Storage recently celebrated the grand opening of its new location at 27661 Tamiami Trail in Bonita Springs.

The company offers a selection of storage amenities and services and can store anything from household items to small business inventory and seasonal items. Ave Maria Utility wins water award

Ave Maria Utility Company recently won the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association’s Best Tasting Drinking Water contest, beating out 10 other regional finalists. This is AMUC’s second state title, and is the first time the association has named a repeat winner.

The water treatment plant was designed, built and operated by CH2M HILL for the Ave Maria Utility Company and the planned community of Ave Maria. The 1.67 million-gallons-per-day plant uses membrane softening to treat water drawn from the Lower Tamiami aquifer.

Kostelny named gallery manager

Kay Kostelny has joined Mark Loren Designs as gallery manager for the Fort Myers gallery. Kostelny brings more than 30 years of expertise in the gemology industry to the position.

Kostelny graduated from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College with a diploma in jewelry repair and fabrication. She earned her graduate gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, Calif.

Tibbetts joins Cape Coral Eye Center

Michael D. Tibbetts will join Tyson Eye of Cape Coral Eye Center as a retina specialist and begin accepting new patients this summer.

Tibbetts has an undergraduate degree in molecular biology from Princeton University, a medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his residency at Wills Eye Institute in Philadelphia. He is now finishing a Fellowship at Tufts Medical School in Boston.

Hynden named Advisor of the Year

Eric J. Hynden was named 2013 “Advisor of the Year” for the UBS Financial Services Fort Myers branch and was honored as a member of the firm’s President Club. Hynden ranks in the top 5 percent of the firm's U.S.-based advisers.

Haley named as new director

Lighthouse of Southwest Florida has named J. Mitchell Haley as its new director of community relations. Haley will be responsible for the agency’s public relations, marketing, development, fund raising and special events.

Past positions include Lee Memorial Hospital’s Media Services Department, development director for the Island Coast Aids Network and management roles with WFTX-TV, WTVK-TV and WGCU-FM/TV in addition to operating his own advertising agency.

Jaren Skinner, an environmental specialist, has joined Conestoga-Rovers & Associates.

Skinner has more than 15 years of experience in the environmental consulting field and has prepared more than 1,000 Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments in Florida, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
