Vizeum New Zealand has won the global media account of Fletcher Building - one of the largest companies in New Zealand.

After a competitive pitch, Fletcher Building handed Vizeum media strategy, planning and buying duties globally.

Fletcher Building is a publicly-listed construction giant that also manufactures and distributes infrastructure and building products. It has a market capitalisation of more than NZ$7 billion, one of the largest workforces in the country, and also operates in Australia, The US, Europe and Asia.

This is the first time the company has consolidated its media into a single agency.

"We are delighted to appoint Vizeum on a global basis, since we operate across multiple geographies," Fletcher Building chief marketing officer Becky Lloyd says.

"This is an opportunity for us to maximise the return on our media spend, while tapping into Vizeum’s expertise, agility and innovation in the changing media environment to help us deliver our long-term business goals."

In winning the account, Vizeum was praised for a "strategic and holistic approach, and the ability to resource a complex account across multiple global markets".

Vizeum Agency Director Richard Hale says the win is transformational for the agency and was one of the biggest pitches to take place in New Zealand in recent months.

"Fletcher Building is an iconic New Zealand business and the win adds to already strong momentum for our agency this year. The team is very much looking forward to the opportunity to drive real business results," Hale adds.

Vizeum, a part of the Dentsu Aegis Network, adds Fletcher Building to growing client book of well-known brands, including Red Bull, H&M, Nissan, Accor Hotels and Pernod Ricard.
