When is the Women’s Euro 2017? Qualified teams, matches and ticket info – here’s what we know

Holland hosts the tournament which has been increased to 16 countries for the first time in its history

ENGLAND'S women boast a 10-match unbeaten run as they prepare for their Euro 2017 campaign.

The Lionesses are aiming to improve on a third-place finish at the World Cup - which saw a heartbreaking semi-final defeat to Japan thanks to an injury-time own goal.

Mark Sampson's side have established themselves as one of the best teams in world football and will fancy their chances.

But Germany - who have won an incredible eight of nine tournaments - will pose a stern test.

When is the Women's Euro 2017?

The tournament kicks off on July 16 when Holland play Norway with the final taking place on August 6.

FC Twente's 30,000-seater arena will host the showpiece which could see Germany aiming for a seventh consecutive triumph.

The 16 finalists have been placed into four groups of four, with the top two in each section progressing to the knockout phase.

Who has qualified for the Women's Euro 2017?

England have been drawn in Group D alongside Scotland, Spain and Portugal.

No other home nations are represented with Holland joining Norway Denmark and Belgium.

Holders Germany face Sweden, Italy and Russia, with France, Iceland, Austria and Switzerland completing the 16.

England fans will be frightened to hear that the Icelanders await as potential opponents in the quarter-finals.

Who are the teams to watch at Euro 2017?

Six-time champions Germany are an obvious pick with England also in the running.

The Lionesses beat their long-term rivals 1-0 in the third-place match at the World Cup.

Holland will hope to impress on home soil while Sweden are usually a threat.

Iceland will be dreaming of emulating their men's incredible run to the quarter-finals at Euro 2016.

Tickets are available on the official tournament website with group matches starting at a bargain £8.70.

The cost of attending the final will vary between £17.40 and £52.

England's matches are not yet sold out - including a blockbuster with the Auld Enemy on July 19.
