Up And Coming Sires Out In Force at Karaka 2017
One of the most exciting aspects of the upcoming National Yearling Sales Series at Karaka is the strong representation of talented young sires who are rapidly making names for themselves with outstanding racetrack results.
New Zealand’s two-year-old racing so far this season has been headlined by the spectacular debuts of first-crop sires Power and Burgundy.

Already the sire of 17 winners in Europe (four at stakes level), Power has made a similarly bright start in New Zealand. The Cambridge Stud shuttler has raced to the top of the first season sire standings, thanks in large part to his daughter Gift Of Power (NZ) who has won three of her four starts including the Group 2 Wakefield Challenge Stakes and Listed Wellesley Stakes. There are 29 Power yearlings in the Karaka 2017 catalogues.
