What's the optimal number of board members for a public company?

That question may be on the minds of investors in Ubiquiti Networks Inc., which on Monday became the latest target of short-seller Citron Research. Citron's Andrew Left published a report alleging that Ubiquiti is a fraud, a move that caused the maker of communications equipment to shed some $500 million of market value (it recouped some of those losses on Tuesday).
