KUWAIT, Dec 25 -- 1967 -- The Kuwait Trade Union Federation was established.
1977 -- The University Theater Troupe was established.
1978 -- Famous Kuwaiti actor Saqer Al-آ­Rushoud passes away at 37 as a result of a car accident in the UAE where he was working for the Information Ministry as a theater affairs expert.
1990 -- The Gulf Cooperation Council leaders conclude the fourآ­day "Doha Summit", during which the Doha Declaration was issued. The declaration urged the unconditional Iraqi withdrawal from Kuwait.
1991 -- In one of the first volunteer environmental acts, the newly-established Kuwait diving team recovers a sunken boat off the coast of Fahaheel.
2000 -- Kuwait Oil Company begins operation of gathering center number 27, which was located west of Kuwait, with production capacity of 190,000 barrels a day. The center was built by a Chinese company.
2001 -- The Blood Bank announces implementation of a new international system that categorizes donated blood bags. This makes Kuwait the first country in the Middle East to use this system, which allows it to import or export rare blood types to and from European countries.
2003 -- Kathma Sports Club wins the Sixth Mohammad Abdulmohsen Al-آ­Kharafi Soccer Championship after a 1-0 victory over Al-Arabi.
2005 -- Chairman of the International Islamic Charity Organization Youssef Alآ­Hajji receives the 2005 King Faisal International Award for Serving Islam.
2011 -- Health Ministry signs cooperation agreement with Johns Hopkins University. (end) hb
