Malaysian auto group DRB-Hicom slips back into red in Q3

KUALA LUMPUR -- DRB-Hicom on Wednesday reported an earnings decline for the October-December quarter, citing a one-off impairment charge at automaker Proton and subdued car sales.

The Malaysian automotive group posted a net loss of 58 million ringgit ($15 million) for the fiscal third quarter, compared to a net profit of 352 million ringgit for the same period of 2016. Total sales decreased 11% on the year to 3.05 billion ringgit.
