Canadian owner Algoma Central Corporation has returned to profit in the fourth quarter as revenue rose.

The tanker and bulker owner said net earnings were CAD 13.36m ($10.32m), up from a loss of CAD 11.75m a year ago.

Revenue grew to CAD 138.7m against CAD 130.6m, while it was also hurt by an impairment of CAD 27.5m in 2016, relating to domestic bulkers and its product tankers.
