Former Concur executive Murray Warner joins Serko

Former Concur executive Murray Warner joins Serko as John Challis steps up to global role

Auckland, New Zealand. 21 March 2018 – Serko Ltd. (SKO.NZ), a leader in online travel booking and expense management for business, today announced that it has appointed former Concur executive Murray Warner to lead its Australasian business, and promoted John Challis to Head of Business Development to focus on global expansion.

This investment in leadership is designed to ensure Serko continues to grow its lead in the Australia and New Zealand markets while further establishing a presence in North America and Europe during 2018.

Darrin Grafton, Serko CEO said, “Bringing someone like Murray into our business, with such an impressive track record, is a real coup for Serko. We’ve built a strong leadership position in the Australia and New Zealand markets but complacency is not an option for us, and this move ensures a renewed focus on customer success, retention and growth”.

Murray spent more than 15 years with Concur, most recently as Director Business Development Asia Pacific where he led Concur’s partnership distribution strategy across the region.

“The vision that Serko has for the future of business travel and expense is extremely compelling, and I'm excited to be a part of an organisation that has such bold ambitions,” said Warner.

John Challis was instrumental in building Serko’s customer base in Australia and New Zealand over the past decade, and his new role as Head of Business Development will see him take ownership for new market penetration and new partner development.

“We've achieved so much in Australasia and I'm proud to have been a part of the journey to get to where we are today. Now it’s time to take on the world, and I'm thrilled to be involved in creating global momentum for Serko. Despite all we've achieved it feels like Serko's journey is really just beginning".

The new look executive line-up, along with Serko’s new flagship product, Zeno, will be introduced to the industry at the BTTB-GTBA conference in Sydney on May 8-9.
