Spain

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone believes Antoine Griezmann could be convinced to stay if Atleti beat Arsenal in the Europa League. The Argentinian boss already believes Atleti's efforts in La Liga have been enough to show the Frenchman, who is a Barcelona transfer target, that the club can compete at the top, but is now eyeing a Europa League triumph to seal the deal. Simeone said that Griezmann must see that the team 'can still grow'. (AS)

Barcelona's talks with Samuel Umtiti over a new deal are ongoing with the Catalans eyeing an agreement before the World Cup begins. The Frenchman, who has been the subject of Manchester United transfer rumours, has not been impressed by Barca's offers so far and, although he wants to continue at the club, a major improvement in terms is needed. Barca also have in mind a giant €250million (£218m) clause for the 25-year-old. (Sport)

Clement Lenglet has moved a step closer to agreeing a deal with Barcelona after his representatives and those of the Catalan club met this week. The meeting was set up to strike an agreement with the player, with a view to seeing how much Sevilla would sell the Frenchman for. Another key fact was making Lenglet aware that he would have regular minutes at Barca. (Sport)

Andre Gomes' miserable stint at the Camp Nou looks to be coming to an end with club and player decided he will leave the club at the end of the season. The Portuguese, who was a Tottenham transfer target last summer, is aware there is no other choice but to go. Barca are confident they will receive good offers for Gomes, despite his stock falling considerably. (Sport)

Italy

Juventus sporting director Beppe Marotta has labelled the potential returns of Paul Pogba and Alvaro Morata to the club as 'mirages'. Both players have endured difficult seasons in the Premier League with Manchester United and Chelsea respectively and returns to Serie A have been mooted. Marotta said that while nothing can be ruled out in football, their returns look unlikely. (Sport Mediaset)

Manchester City and Real Madrid are out of the race to sign Juventus transfer target Emre Can. The Italian outfit have a €35million (£30m) option on the Valencia player, but Bergomi believes the money could be spent better elsewhere and has labelled Cancelo 'sloppy' in his defensive work. Jose Mourinho's reported desire to get Pogba out of Manchester United might run into a few problems, particularly with the hierarchy at the club. The Frenchman has the full support of the Old Trafford powers that be, who view him as a key part of the future at United. Blaise Matuidi's exit from PSG was made possible due to Unai Emery's show of faith in Adrien Rabiot. Matuidi, now with Juventus, was told by Emery that his playing time would be reduced with the team due to Rabiot's emergence. Hatem Ben Arfa's miserable time with PSG continues with news the former Newcastle player is planning to sue the Ligue 1 champions. Ben Arfa claims that PSG denied him a 'morality' bonus in the final year of his deal. (Le Parisien)

Schalke's highly-rated coach Domenico Tedesco will be handed a new deal at the German club which will see his wages doubled in a contract that would expire in 2021. The 32-year-old has received plaudits for his work with the Bundesliga side, who are second in the table. (BILD)

RB Leipzig plan on sending scouts to watch Porto's exciting full-back Ricardo Pereira as they look to continue their rapid progress in recent years. Ricardo has started 23 times in the league this season and is noted for his versatility. The 24-year-old can play on the right or left, as well as in midfield. (Zero Zero)
